About Me...

I am Lisa... a stay at home mom to Ryli and Landry. I am once again a single mom, by choice. I have three older children, Dacey, who just graduated high school (I'm not THAT old, am I?) Connor, and Tucker, who presently don't live with me in Texas. We have four fish at this time. I know one has been named Fishy.

At 19, on February 22, 1995, my life changed totally, as I was taken to the hospital after suffering a stroke. They never figured out why, and I figured they never would. I used to be very active, a bit of a jock, even. I also used to be right handed.

They finally figured out the culprit behind the stroke when I was again hospitalized for a pulmonary embolism (in English, blood clot in the lung) in June of 2004. I was the lucky inheritor of Factor V Leiden, a clotting disorder. On the plus side, I only got one copy of the gene. I'm on blood thinners for the rest of my life. When pregnant, that means a minimum of one shot in the stomach a day.

With an almost 15 year gap between my oldest and youngest, some question my sanity. I was a lot younger then, which was and is a blessing and a curse. I'm doing a lot of things differently than the first time. I do things differently, anyway. A necessity when you are left with your dominant hand useless and your right leg at about 90% of what it once was.

I love to write, and admittedly, I am out of practice. This blog will eventually be a lot better than it's been.

Ask me anything you want. About Leiden, about parenthood with a less than stellar hand (my euphemism for a disability), anything you want. About cloth diapering. My thoughts on life.
ANYTHING!
